블리자드 사칭, WOW 베타테스트 사기메일 극성

월드 오브 워크래프트를 기다리는 북미 게이머들을 대상으로 가짜 베타테스터 메일이 발송되는 소동이 발생했다.

월드 오브 워크래프트를 기다리는 북미 게이머들을 대상으로 가짜 베타테스터 메일이 발송되는 소동이 발생했다.

발송자가 블리자드 포럼 관리자인 카트리샤(Blizzard_Katricia)로 표기된 이 전자메일은  [e-mail] 이라는 메일 주소로 화면상에 출력돼 진짜 베타테스터 관련메일로 착각을 불러일으키고 있다.

이 가짜 블리자드 메일의 근원지는 “Fake Mailz"라는 가짜 이메일 발송 전문사이트인 것으로 밝혀졌다.

특히 이 베타테스트 신청자들이 가짜 전자메일에 답신을 보낼 경우 [e-mail] 이라는 엉뚱한 곳으로 내용이 발송되고 있어 주의가 요구된다.

메일 내용중에는 `베타테스터가 지켜야 할 각종 규칙`과 `블리자드는 CD키를 물어보지 않는다`는 점을 포함하면서 동시에 앞으로 사용할 `계정의 명칭과 비밀번호를 답장으로 보내달라`고 요구해 게이머들을 교묘히 속이고 있기 때문이다.

We are happy to inform you that you have been accepted into the World of Warcraft Beta program.

On March 4, 2004, you and 1200 others will be given the opportunity to experience the first phase of beta for yourself. However, we require you to abide by a few rules:

-Do not sell, trade, share, or transfer your beta account, beta account information, or the game files itself.

-We will also require you to accept a Non-Disclosure Agreement(NDA) during your registration. This NDA will prohibit the distribution of any information regarding the game, including but not limited to, intellectual rights, copyrighted characters or insignia, non-copyrighted characters or insignia, class information, spell information, quests, NPCs, screenshots, or the game files used to run World of Warcraft.

-Lastly, we want you to enjoy yourself, and report back to us any suggestions or bugs you might find!

Prior to March 4, ! the CD`s with the game files will be sent, and a link to download the game itself will become available. We will include the link to these files, your Beta Access Key(CD-Key), and more information at that time.

But, for now, we ask you to reply with the Username and the Password you would like to use for the beta.
